APCOA PARKING already is active in Ireland and runs car parks at more than 700 locations, including Jervis Street in Dublin. Last year it won a contract, which had been held by NCPS, to run 67 Irish Rail car parks. NCPS and APCOA are two of the country's largest car park operators, alongside Q Park, Euro Car Parks and
Park Rite. NCPS directors Tom Harrington, Victor Gibson and Ann Byrne hold minority stakes in the company. APCOA was founded in 1947 as the Airport Parking Corporation of America but is now majority-owned by private equity group Centerbridge and based in Germany.
